Sandusky Mall Continues with Redevelopment
22/12/2020
The more than one million square foot property is on course to move forward and complete its current renovation.
The mall, which annually welcomes the millions of roller coaster enthusiasts that visit the nearby Cedar Point Amusement Park is hoping to welcome residents upon completion of the renovation.
Like many owners of regional enclosed malls, Cafaro Company is not only recalibrating the tenant mix of its properties, but also adding green spaces. In the case of Sandusky Mall, which opened in 1976, it will introduce a housing complex in what it calls a “dramatic transformation.”
New retail tenants include Five Below, which will inhabit a 10,276sq ft store and Another Broken Egg Café, a breakfast, brunch, and lunch concept that will fill a 5,100sq ft space. Hobby Lobby and Shoe Dept. Encore joined the mall earlier this year. Long-term tenants include J.C. Penney, T.J. Maxx, Best Buy, Target, and Cinemark.
